Over 30 people turned out to join NewPath and co-hosts Web Networks to find out how to use a blog as a tool to generate buzz for your Social Mission or Small Business and how to make connections and open doors that will help you reach your goals that much faster!

Leesa Barnes
Working with management teams, entrepreneurs and organizations, Leesa Barnes teaches insider tips on how to open doors, generate leads and make money using a podcast. She is President of Toronto-based Caprica Interactive Marketing and Leesa has helped hundreds of businesses worldwide generate an income from podcasting. She is author of the forthcoming book called Podcasting for Profit (Maxpress, August 2007) which will show individuals and businesses how to make money podcasting in seven easy steps.

Mark Evans is Vice-President, Content with b5media Inc., one of theworld's largest blogging networks. Before joining b5media last October,Mark was senior technology with the National Post. In 2000, he co-founded Blanketware Corp., which developed natural language search technology. He writes three blogs:
Mark Kuznicki
Mark Kuznicki is a researcher, writer and strategy consultant working at the intersection of technology, culture and policy. Mark’s expertise includes social media, the economics of peer-production and the social dynamics of creative communities. Mark received his undergraduate education at Wilfrid Laurier University’s School of Business and Economics where his areas of focus were in Finance, Strategy and Organizational Change. He went on to a successful 8 year client and technology management career in the investment industry for the Canadian operations of Boston-based State Street Corporation. Mark left State Street to study Political Theory, International Relations and International Political Economy at the University of Toronto, where his academic interests included regional innovation clusters, sustainability and global governance. Mark subsequently joined as a Director and partner in web service startup company Tercina Inc. and Enboard.com, which was invited residence into the Excelerator, a technology incubator associated with the University of Toronto’s Innovations Foundation.
Since 2005, Mark has been working as a consultant, researching and developing strategy and public policy research in the areas of creative industries, regional economic development, innovation and cultural policy. Mark is an active participant in the BarCamp technology community in Toronto and is one of the organizers of the Toronto TransitCamp and OpenCities unconferences. Mark draws from this diverse body of knowledge and experience to assist clients and communities tackling complex policy and strategy problems in a environment of rapid global change.
Ed Lee, Senior Consultant, Internet Communications
Ed Lee had worked in the traditional PR industry for three years before his move to iStudio’s Toronto office. To date, Ed has worked on a variety of accounts in both his native UK and Canada including corporate communications for technology companies, sport, not-for-profit, consumer goods, healthcare, government relations and property development.
At iStudio, Ed is responsible for account and project management, day-to-day client counsel and the ongoing development of digital programs in collaboration with colleagues at iStudio’s parent company, Fleishman-Hillard. His current clients include ENCON, Canadian Council on Learning, Astral Television Networks, Amgen and Nycomed. Ed is a well known PR blogger and is currently a member of the “Power 150” global list of marketing and public relations bloggers.
When he’s not in the iStudio office or blogging, you can find Ed organizing a grassroots Public Relations meet-up, dedicated to bringing social media into the mainstream PR industry, or playing soccer in various leagues around Toronto. A graduate of Oxford Brookes University (UK), Ed holds a BA with Honours in Anthropology and Politics.
